Tell us where you are and where you’re going. Dispatch confirms your driver, your pickup time and your fare before anyone sets off.
Need a car in the next ten minutes?
Calling is faster than typing. Dispatch can see which vehicle is nearest you and give you a real arrival time rather than an estimate.
Booking for someone else?
Put their name and phone number in the notes and we will contact them directly at pickup. Families arranging rides for a parent, and offices booking for visiting staff, do this every week.
Every corner of the city, and the roads out of itView full section
Distances are measured from the city centre. Times assume ordinary conditions — a cruise ship in port or a summer Saturday on University Avenue adds to them.
Downtown & the waterfront
Victoria Row, Peake’s Wharf, Confederation Centre, Founders’ Hall and the Queen Street hotels. Our busiest few blocks, and the first to fill up on a cruise day.
Spring Park, Brighton & Parkdale
The residential ring around the centre, plus UPEI, Holland College and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Most of our weekday work sits here.
Sherwood, West & East Royalty
Charlottetown Mall, the North River Road corridor, Hillsborough Park and the newer subdivisions out past the bypass.
Stratford & Cornwall
Over the Hillsborough Bridge for Bunbury, Kinlock and Tea Hill, or west on the Trans-Canada for Cornwall, North River and Eliot River.
Charlottetown Airport (YYG)
Rides to the terminal are priced as a city trip. Rides that start at the terminal follow the Airport Authority’s published tariff instead.
The rest of Prince Edward Island
Summerside, Cavendish, Brackley, Montague, Souris, the Wood Islands ferry and the Confederation Bridge.

Every booking is matched to a vehicle class before a driver is assigned.

The standard car behind our flat city fares, and the usual choice for solo riders, couples and short runs across town.
SUV
More room behind the seats, for a full weekly shop, sports gear, or a walker that needs to travel alongside you.
Minivan
Families travelling together, and groups heading out for the evening who would rather take one vehicle than two.
Passenger van
Teams, work crews and wedding parties. Larger groups are moved in vehicles dispatched to arrive together.

How much is a taxi in Charlottetown?
Charlottetown local fares start at $8.50 with HST included. Dispatch confirms the applicable fare before assigning the vehicle.
Are Charlottetown taxi fares still set by the city?
Charlottetown local fares follow the current City of Charlottetown taxi requirements. The applicable fare is confirmed before dispatch.
Do you charge more at night, on weekends or on holidays?
No. The fare at 2am on New Year’s Day is the same as the fare at 2pm on a Tuesday. There is no surge multiplier, no night rate and no holiday supplement.
Is the fare per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle. Four people travelling together to the same address pay one flat fare between them, not four separate fares. Tell dispatch how many are riding so the right size of vehicle is sent.
Are you open 24 hours, and how quickly can a car reach me?
Dispatch runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. Arrival time depends on where you are and what else is on the road, so calling is the fastest way to find out — a dispatcher can see which car is closest and give you a real time rather than an estimate.
How much is a taxi to and from Charlottetown Airport?
A ride going to the terminal is priced as an ordinary city trip. A ride that starts at the terminal follows the Charlottetown Airport Authority’s published taxi tariff instead: $20 to the Charlottetown zone, $30 to Stratford or Cornwall, and $2.25 per kilometre beyond, HST included. Details are on our airport transfer page.
Do you serve Stratford, Cornwall and the rest of PEI?
Yes. Stratford, Cornwall, Bunbury, Kinlock, North River and Eliot River are quoted when you book. Beyond the capital region the fare is worked out by distance at $2 per kilometre and confirmed before the car is dispatched, anywhere on the Island. See long-distance travel.
Do I need a car seat for my child in a taxi in PEI?
Prince Edward Island law requires children to travel in a car seat or booster suited to their age, weight and height. Atlantic Canada’s child passenger safety authority notes that PEI currently exempts taxis from that requirement, so a driver is not ticketed — but a properly fitted seat is still the safest way for a child to travel.
Ask for a child or booster seat when you book and dispatch will confirm availability before the car is assigned.
Can I travel with a service dog or a pet?
Service dogs ride in every vehicle at no extra charge and no advance notice is needed; the PEI Human Rights Act protects passengers who rely on an assist animal. Pets in a carrier travel with you as standard. For a larger dog, mention it when you book so a suitable vehicle and driver are assigned.
How do I pay, and can I book a ride in advance?
Cash and card are both accepted in every vehicle, and company accounts are available on request. Rides can be booked ahead for a set time, which is worth doing for anything that cannot slip — a hospital appointment, an early flight, a court date — because a scheduled ride is assigned to a driver in advance rather than left to whoever is free.

Abdul was an amazing driver. I was solo traveling for the first time, and he gave me day to day recommendations and made sure I felt safe! I ended up using him for the duration of my stay, as he made me feel comfortable and had fair prices. Would highly recommend this service!
We enjoyed the most spectacular tour of PEI today! Abdul kindly tailored sites to include our interests and so much more, absolutely exceeding our expectations. He even took us shopping and was constantly nearby ready to help with pictures. Thank you, Abdul!
This Taxi service has gone above and beyond for us!!! Thank you so much! We are in Alberta and asked them to pick up a gift basket from Sobeys and deliver to our senior mom for her birthday! They did amazing and was so patient! Thank you again!
