01Local taxi service in CharlottetownEveryday rides in the city and the neighbouring communities.
How do I book a taxi in Charlottetown?

Call or text +1 (782) 377-7533, message us on WhatsApp, or use the booking form on any page of this site. Dispatch confirms your vehicle, pickup time and fare personally — usually within minutes.

Are you available 24 hours a day?

Yes. Dispatch is answered by a person at any hour, including overnight, weekends and holidays. Early-morning and late-night trips are best pre-booked so a vehicle is held for your exact time.

What does a local taxi cost in Charlottetown?

Local trips within Charlottetown start at $8.50 under the published fare schedule. The price is set by destination rather than a meter, so traffic and detours do not change it, and there is no surge pricing at any hour.

Do you serve Stratford and Cornwall?

Yes. Charlottetown, Stratford and Cornwall are all covered. Dispatch confirms the fare for your specific trip before you travel.

How long will I wait for a vehicle?

It depends on where you are and how busy the Island is at that moment — summer evenings and cruise days are the tightest. Calling or texting is fastest for an immediate pickup, because dispatch can see which vehicle is nearest you.

02Charlottetown Airport (YYG)Arrivals, departures and what happens when a flight moves.
How much is a taxi from Charlottetown Airport?

Airport transfers start at $20 under the tariff published by the Charlottetown Airport Authority. Your exact fare is confirmed before you travel and nothing is added at the end of the journey. Full details are on the airport transfer page.

Do you meet flights inside the terminal?

Yes. A driver can meet you inside Arrivals with a name board, or at the curb if you prefer. Say which you would like when you book.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

We monitor your flight number and adjust the pickup automatically, so an early landing or a delay costs you nothing. Include the flight number when you book so this can be set up.

Can you collect me for a very early departure?

Yes, and it is worth pre-booking. Charlottetown Airport has a cluster of early-morning departures, and a booked pickup holds a vehicle for your exact time at no extra cost.

Can you take a group and its luggage from the airport?

Yes. Tell dispatch the passenger and bag count when you book and the right vehicle — or more than one — is assigned. A passenger van seats up to seven.

03Reservations, changes and cancellationsBooking ahead, changing plans and how confirmations work.
How far in advance should I book?

Same-day rides are usually fine. Airport runs, early-morning departures, wedding dates and summer cruise days fill quickly and are worth booking as soon as you know your times. Pre-booking holds the vehicle at no extra cost.

Is a request the same as a confirmed booking?

No. A form submission is a request. Dispatch replies to confirm the vehicle, time and fare — that reply is your confirmation. If you need certainty immediately, call or text instead.

How do I change or cancel a booking?

Call or text dispatch on +1 (782) 377-7533 with your name and pickup time. Changes are easiest with as much notice as you can give, particularly in summer.

Will I get a written confirmation?

Yes. Choose text, phone, email or WhatsApp when you book and dispatch confirms by that method.

04Pricing, quotes and paymentWhat is published, what is quoted, and how you can pay.
Which trips have a published fare and which are quoted?

Local Charlottetown trips and Charlottetown Airport transfers follow published fare schedules. Longer Island trips, off-Island travel, hourly hire, weddings, tours and group work are quoted before you travel, because distance, hours and vehicle count all change the price.

Do you use surge pricing?

No. The fare does not change because it is a Friday night, a holiday, or raining.

How do I get a written quote?

Send your date, pickup, destination and passenger count through any booking form, or call dispatch. You get the price in writing before anything is confirmed.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, Interac debit, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Every vehicle carries a card machine.

Can a company be invoiced instead of paying per trip?

Yes. Corporate accounts can be invoiced monthly. See the corporate travel page or contact dispatch to set one up.

Are tolls and ferry charges included?

Bridge and ferry charges are itemised in your quote rather than hidden inside the fare, so you can see exactly what you are paying for.

05Long-distance and off-Island travelTravel beyond the city fare zones, on and off Prince Edward Island.
Do you travel anywhere on Prince Edward Island?

Yes. Summerside, Cavendish, North Rustico, Kensington, Borden-Carleton, Montague, Souris, Wood Islands and every other community are covered. These trips are quoted before travel — see the long-distance page.

Can you drive to Moncton or Halifax?

Yes. Off-Island travel is pre-arranged and quoted in advance, including trips to Halifax Stanfield and Moncton airports. Book these as far ahead as you can.

Is a return trip cheaper than two one-way trips?

Return journeys are priced together rather than as two separate trips, so it is always worth telling dispatch if you need the return when you book the outbound.

06Cruise and ferry transportationPort Charlottetown, Wood Islands and CTMA Souris.
Do you meet cruise ships at Port Charlottetown?

Yes. Transfers are timed to docking and all-aboard times, and shore excursions can be arranged for the hours your ship is in port. See the cruise and ferry page.

Can you take me to the Wood Islands ferry?

Yes. Wood Islands crossings and CTMA sailings from Souris are both covered. Give dispatch your sailing time and the pickup is set with check-in time allowed for.

What if my ship or sailing is delayed?

Tell dispatch as soon as you know. Pickups are adjusted around the actual docking or sailing time wherever vehicle availability allows.

07Tours, golf and Island itinerariesPrivate sightseeing, multi-course golf days and flexible itineraries.
What does a private PEI tour include?

A vehicle and a local driver for your route and your pace — Green Gables, Cavendish, North Rustico, Point Prim and anywhere else you want to stop. Details are on the private tours page.

Can you build a golf itinerary across several courses?

Yes. Multi-course days with room for clubs and luggage are a regular booking. See the golf transportation page.

Can we change the route during the day?

On an hourly or tour booking, yes. The vehicle is held for your booked hours, so changing the order of stops is expected rather than a problem.

08Weddings, events and group travelMultiple vehicles moving on one schedule.
Do you handle wedding transportation?

Yes — bridal party vehicles, hotel-to-venue guest shuttles, ceremony-to-reception transfers and pre-booked late-night returns. See the wedding transportation page.

Can you move a large group?

Yes. Larger groups are covered by running several vehicles on one coordinated schedule rather than a single coach. Tell dispatch the total headcount and the timing.

Do you work with conferences and event organisers?

Yes. Charlottetown Taxi is a Meet PEI member and handles delegate and group transportation for meetings and events. Contact dispatch or see the corporate travel page.

Can you provide transportation for a production crew?

Yes. Crew and location transportation is arranged through the hourly chauffeur service, with a single point of contact across multiple days and vehicles.

09Appointment transportationScheduled, non-emergency travel to appointments.
Is appointment transportation an emergency service?

No. It is scheduled, non-emergency passenger transportation only — no medical care, no patient monitoring, no stretcher or ambulance service. In a medical emergency, call 911.

Can the driver wait or come back for me?

Both can be arranged. Waiting time is quoted with the trip, and a return pickup can be booked at a set time or coordinated when you call dispatch after your appointment. See the appointment transportation page.

Can recurring appointments be set up?

Yes. Recurring appointment pickups can be arranged as a standing request, confirmed against vehicle availability.

10Vehicles, luggage and accessibilityCapacity, equipment and what we can and cannot accommodate.
How many passengers fit in your vehicles?

A sedan seats up to four passengers with two large bags and two carry-ons; an SUV seats up to four with three large bags; a passenger van seats up to seven with four large bags. Tell dispatch your passenger and luggage count and the right vehicle is assigned.

Do you have child seats?

Child seats and boosters can be requested in the booking form. Ask when you book so dispatch can confirm availability for your time.

Are your vehicles wheelchair accessible?

No. We do not operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles — passengers need to be able to transfer into a standard vehicle seat. A folding wheelchair, walker or cane can normally travel in the vehicle, and drivers can help you between the door and the car.

Can you carry golf clubs, skis or oversized luggage?

Often, yes, but it depends on the vehicle. Describe what you are carrying when you book so dispatch assigns something with the room for it.

11Service areaWhere we operate from and how far we go.
Where are you based?

At 72 Kensington Road, Charlottetown, PE C1A 5J2, dispatching province-wide 24 hours a day.

Which communities do you serve?

All of Prince Edward Island. Charlottetown, Stratford and Cornwall are the core service area; Summerside, Cavendish, North Rustico, Kensington, Borden-Carleton, Montague, Souris, Wood Islands and every other community are served on a quoted basis.

Do you pick up from outside Charlottetown?

Yes, though a pickup far from the city needs more notice than one downtown. Call dispatch with your location and time and you will get a straight answer about what is possible.

12Lost property and contacting dispatchGetting hold of us, and getting your belongings back.
I left something in a vehicle. What should I do?

Call or text +1 (782) 377-7533 as soon as you notice. Give the date, approximate time and pickup location so the vehicle can be identified and checked quickly.
